ABOUT
Jen advises senior leaders, moderates events and sits on boards across climate, nature and finance.
Clients describe Jen as strategic, frank, and clear-headed under pressure.
Jen co-founded Sotora Global with Callum Heckstall-Smith in early 2026, a specialist strategic consultancy helping senior leaders integrate policy, communications and science to scale innovative, high-integrity climate and nature solutions. Her own practice spans strategic counsel, moderation and board work. Clients bring her in when stakes are high, politics are complex, or a leader needs an honest second brain.
Her background is in communications. Increasingly her work sits upstream of that – sharpening positions, pressure-testing strategy, and helping leaders think through difficult decisions before they ever become messages.
Her career has unusual range. Earlier on, she worked at Westminster Abbey, then in the household of The Queen at Buckingham Palace. After that, senior editorial roles at the Independent and Evening Standard. She has since spent over a decade advising climate and nature organisations, their founders and their leaders.
Her sector knowledge runs deep across nature-based solutions, carbon markets, natural capital and sustainable finance. She also serves on the boards of Tariro and Plan Vivo, and brings governance experience from both into her advisory work.
Speaking and moderation
Jen speaks, moderates and chairs events at the intersection of climate, nature and finance. She brings warmth, clarity and strategic insight to complex conversations.
Jen has lived and worked in seven countries across four continents. She grew up in Zimbabwe and Botswana, and her heart is still connected to the African bush. She is a trustee of Tariro UK, a charity that supports young people in Zimbabwe through education and mentoring. Jen lives in the “campo” (countryside) in south-east Portugal with her son.
